One of Tuscany’s famous attractions, Florence is a city-sized shrine to the wonderful arts of the Renaissance. Its numerous churches are crammed with enough fine art to last a lifetime. Simply wandering through the maze of narrow streets, hopping between coffee shops and elegant boutiques, and soaking up the Italian atmosphere can also be a delightful experience.

How to Reach Us

By Car

The hotel is easily reachable by car. From the A1 highway or from the airport, follow road signs to Firenze centro and take via Piantanida, which continues onto via Baracca. Follow this road until you reach piazza Puccini and then take via Ponte alle Mosse, until you reach Porta al Prato. Take the viale Fratelli Rosselli towards the Fortezza da Basso. Continue around the walls of the Fortezza da Basso and then take viale Lavagnini. At the crossroad with via S. Caterina d'Alessandria, take a right turn. Keep to the right and go through piazza Indipendenza. The street then continues onto via Nazionale, where you will find us at number 35. Our staff at Hotel Derby will be delighted to organize a parking space for you at our private garage for a small additional charge.

By Train/ Coach

The Santa Maria Novella train station is only 150 metres away from our hotel, approximately a 5 minute walk. A short coach journey or train ride from Amerigo Vespucci (Florence) Airport will bring you to Santa Maria Novella Railway Station, 8km from the airport. Alternatively, a 20 minute taxi ride directly from the airport may be even more convenient.
